I’ve taught A-Level Physics for eight years, both in the classroom and privately, and I particularly enjoy mechanics and electricity. A lot of my students come to me because they understand the theory but lose marks when applying it to unfamiliar questions. We spend plenty of time on past papers, calculations and explaining exactly what the examiner is looking for. I’m quite methodical, but lessons are relaxed and students can stop me whenever something isn’t clear.

Hi! I’ve been tutoring A-Level Physics for just over four years. My favourite part is taking topics that seem horribly complicated at first, especially fields and particle physics, and working through them without rushing. I usually draw diagrams, talk through the physics first and bring in the equations afterwards. Closer to exams, we switch heavily towards timed questions because knowing the content and actually scoring the marks are two different things.

My background is in mechanical engineering, and I have been teaching A-Level Physics alongside engineering work for six years. Mechanics is naturally my strongest area, although I also spend a lot of time helping students with waves, electricity and practical skills. I prefer students to attempt problems aloud rather than watch me solve them. It quickly shows where their reasoning has gone off course, and we can correct the problem before moving to harder questions.
